what it means to be humann in this world.

Exploring life's greatest questions

Seeking Synthesis is a journal exploring health, science, adventure, and the human experience.

Through research and personal essays, we follow questions that carry beyond the page: What shapes us? What makes us feel alive? And how might we live differently because of what we learn?

        A Note from the Founder

        Welcome,

I’m David DeBonis: writer, educator, entrepreneur, and science communicator.

I created Seeking Synthesis to explore questions that follow me between my work and the rest of my life. Questions like:

        • How do our brilliant bodies and minds work?
        • What shapes our thinking?
        • Why do certain experiences leave us feeling more alive?
        • What does it mean to be human in this universe?

Here, you’ll find stories, articles, essays, and other creations about health, language, culture, technology, and science alongside stories of adventure, connection, and purpose. Research informs our writing, as does experience. And so does the nuanced moments when the two don’t neatly agree.

        With love and life,

        David
